About
I'm a change agent.
I have known from a young age that i am here to be part of a great change. I learned about what is known as the Great Turning, a shift from our current path of destruction toward a life sustaining society. In 2007 i attened a month long workshop called Seeds for the Future2 with Joanna Macy . This gave me a profound sense of 'eco-self' and has lead me to a concept i call "the personal is planetary". It espouses the idea that transforming the planet means transforming ourselves, as we are expressions of earth.symposium facilitator
I am also a trained facilitator for the The Pachamama Alliance 's Awakening the Dreamer symposium, known as Changing the Dream here in Australia. This global initiative aims to bring forth a socially just, spiritually fulfilling and environmentally sustainable human presence on earth. Who doesn't want that!??! It's the most inspiring and empowering one day workshop i've experienced. It's a unique approach, positive, creative, reflective, interactive, evocative, and just really beautiful. I believe it has the potential to accelerate the Great Turning and mobilise the people of this planet to work together to reclaim our future, create something we're proud to pass on to the next generations!employment
I am currently working as an environmental consultant with a small company making a big impact. Great Forest Australia works primarily with the property management industry implementing recycling programs and is starting to incorporate an integrated sustainability approach to support companies to meet thier sustainability goals.
In 2006 i worked in the Oceania office of ICLEI. I organised an international conference that brought together local government leaders in sustainability. ACCELERATE NOW! happened in early May 2007 with nearly 470 people in attendance including 66 New Zealand leaders, and 40 ICLEI staff. This was a major achievement for all involved. Councils recognized the need for rapid action, not to wait until something is perfect to try it out and saw the need to integrate sustainability throughout their organisations instead of being isolated in the Environment Department.
what next?
I am transitioning out of my current job toward a new venture. I'm developing a concept, perhaps an institute around new paradigm leadership. This involves bringing the "Work that Reconnects" to the coroporate realm. It's time to honour all leaders where they are and to meet the needs of those who hunger for a new approach, those who see that doing what we've been doing has gotten us to where we are. And now for something compeltely different.... Stay tuned.
And i'm writing a book about the paradigm shift, great turning... and what it's like to be alive at this time of global crisis & opportunity.
all change agents
I believe that a great change is possible, i became present to the fact that it is already happening in a big way, globally in every local community. When i saw the list presented in the symposium, presented by Paul Hawken, creator of this website, it crystalized in my mind. We are all responsible for creating the future, and the earth's immune response system is waking up, we're the people we've been waiting for!Comments (1 - 4 of 4)

The Path to Home
by Edgar Guest There's the mother at the doorway, and the children at the gate, And the little parlor windows with the curtains white and straight. There are shaggy asters blooming in the bed that lines the fence, And the simplest of the blossoms seems of mighty consequence. Oh, there isn't any mansion underneath God's starry dome That can rest a weary pilgrim like the little place called home. Men have sought for gold and silver; men have dreamed at night of fame; In the heat of youth they've struggled for achievement's honored name; But the selfish crowns are tinsel, and their shining jewels paste, And the wine of pomp and glory soon grows bitter to the taste. For there's never any laughter howsoever far you roam, Like the laughter of the loved ones in the happiness of home. |

Hi Tathra I think I am in but not sure about whether there is a particular group (GaiaVic Facilitators Network) that I have missed signing in on. We had a great weekend, and thanks for the deep ecology work you did with the group. love Jacinta |
