About  [Edit]

Tamarack Productions is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization affiliated with Tamarack Media. Our focus is on independent films that raise environmental awareness and inspire action.

Tamarack Productions Projects:

Vermont Climate Witness will be a place for Vermonters to share their observations of and responses to climate change. Visitors to the site will be able to upload their climate and weather stories, composed of video clips, audio recordings, photographs, and writings. This website will also be a source for reliable weather and climate information.

Vermont Climate Witness is a collaboration of Tamarack Productions, Legitify, and the Vermont Natural Resources Council. Seed funding has been provided by J-Lab, the Institute for Interactive Journalism at the University of Maryland, through their New Voices grant.

Tamarack Media Mission:

The mission of Tamarack Media is to raise environmental awareness through the production of innovative media and to help environmental organizations communicate their messages more effectively to new audiences.

Our Clients:

Tamarack produces videos, websites, educational curricula, and other materials for a variety of institutions, ranging from grassroots nonprofits to academic programs. Tamarack helps you deliver your message in a way that not only demands the attention of traditional supporters of environmental causes, but also finds new audiences. Tamarack is committed to connecting our clients with communities typically underrepresented in the environmental movement.

Our Mascot:

The tamarack [Larix laricina] is a member of the pine family. While it looks like a typical evergreen, it has one notable exception: it is a deciduous conifer, shedding its needles each fall. This tree was chosen for the organization`s name because its range extends from Alaska to Vermont, the home states of the co-founders of Tamarack Media.
