February 29th, 2008 Update Enclosed are the site statistics for February. Here are a few observations: January 31st, 2008 Update December 20th, 2007 Update For the first time, the number of visits from people in the US was almost equaled by the number of visits from people outside the US - 51% US visits vs 49% International visits. One of the goals for WiserEarth is to serve the global community rather than just the community in the US, so this is a major milestone.
Since WiserEarth launched in May of 2007, almost 10,000 organizations have been added, expanding the database to over 108,000 organizations working toward environmental restoration and social justice. 8,780 people have joined WiserEarth, contributing 2,604 resources, 1,393 events, and 238 groups.
In terms of traffic, the site receives about 40,000 site visits a month and about half the visitors are from outside the U.S.
Out of the 49% international visits, the most non-US visits came from the UK (7% compared to 3% the month before). Both Mexico and the Netherlands have doubled the number of site visits since the previous month (from 1% of all visits to 2% for the month).
The month of November saw the greatest increase in community members to date as WiserEarth continues to spread the word by attending events and conferences (such as Bioneers and the Green Festival).
There are 59 discussions on WiserEarth covering a total of 249 topics. There are 220 WiserEarth groups. We invite everyone who attends any events to continue the conversation on WiserEarth - the groups area on the site is a great way to do this.
