Biology

Biological development describes the differentiation of cells and tissues into organs to form a plant, fungus, or animal. Biological development can be roughly contrasted with biological growth, in which cells of the same type reproduce themselves to increase the size of a tissue.

More about this issue...
Biological development is important because humans can now modify the genetics of development to create new cells and tissues. There is also argument about when the development of embryonic tissues of a fetus should be called "human." There are many health concerns about stopping the development and growth of cancers and the impacts of toxic chemicals on embryos and sperm development.
